Fifth Grade Parent Meeting Results

We had a good turnout at our Parent Teacher Meeting night.

We talked about classroom expectations and Camp JOLT.

Several decisions were made concerning camp. First we talked about the cost, which is $160.00 per student, plus $5.00 more if they want to do the zip line. Parents decided to have the following booths at the Fall Festival to help offset the cost:

  1. cotton candy
  2. popcorn
  3. slushy
  4. slide (possibility)
  5. caramel apples
  6. paintball shootout and a wrecked car

We need your help to run these booths. Please send $5.00 with your child to help
buy supplies for the booths. Everyone needs to be a participant and we would really appreciate fifth grade student help. This endeavor after all is for them.

TWO FUNDRAISERS THAT COST YOU NOTHING

1. We are collecting cans to sell and they can be brought to school.

2. We are collecting gently used and unwanted cell phones. We have a company who will pay for them if they have a screen that works, battery, and can receive and send a signal. The same company will also buy used ink cartridges for printers.

After these fundraisers, the funds collected will be added to the remaining cost of camp and divided equally between each student. It is important that we put forth our best effort so that the cost will not be so high.

If you have an idea for a craft that the students can make to sell at the Fall Festival please let us know. We will get their craft in the silent auction. It should be something that every student in the group can participate in. You are welcome to come and help. It is our thought that Friday study hall would be a good time to work on this project.

Please send your $5.00 as soon as possible.
