Flex Days

Dear Parents,

 

      Pritchard Junior High will be offering Flex Days in April. The purpose of the flex days are to provide students who did not pass TAKS in 2009 extra small group instruction and it is an incentive for students to give their best effort to pass all sections of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills(TAKS) test, as well as encourage good attendance and passing grades each six weeks. Students who have already met the district criteria for mastering TAKS standards will be exempt during the flex days. The district criteria are described below for grades 6, 7 and 8.

 

How to Achieve Exemption During Flex Week:

 

• The student must not have missed more than 5 days of school prior to the flex days in April 2010. All absences must be excused. No exception will be granted. Second Semester absences will be the deciding criteria.
• The student must have achieved Met Standard on all grade level TAKS tests taken in spring 2009.
• Students must be passing all classes to a level that will ensure that credit is awarded at the end of the course.
• Any student may be required to attend the flex days in April 2010 at the discretion of the campus principal.
• Students must not exhibit excessive behavior problems.

 

Flex days at Pritchard Junior High will be April 14, 15, and 16.
